I’ve been called back in for a review. As far as I know everything is alright with my treatment, what will they do during the review?

Once you are established on CPAP you will be invited back to your sleep centre at regular intervals to assess how well your treatment is working.

Your sleep centre can access the following information from your CPAP machine:

    • Daily usage
    • Any leak from the side of the mask
    • Any leak from your mouth if you wear a nasal mask
    • Whether you are still snoring despite treatment
    • Whether you are still having apnoeas or hypopnoeas despite treatment
    • Whether you have developed Central Sleep Apnoea while using CPAP
    • Whether you have developed Cheyne-Stokes respiration.

All of these parameters can show whether your treatment is successful, or whether your sleep specialist needs to alter your mask or pressure. Sleep centres can also provide you with replacement parts and may be able to update your mask as new ones are developed.
